Embroidered panel showing an apple tree with red apples, nasturtiums growing round trunk, with clumps of violets and chrysanthemums at foot. Coloured silks on cream silk, worked in long and short stitch, stem stitch, French knots and satin stitch.. Designed by John Henry Dearle for Morris & Co. who provided the silks; one of six panels worked by Lady Helen Lucas Tooth for the drawing room of her daughter’s house at Somerfield Keynes near Cirencester. The other panels are also in the Gallery’s collection.
