The cup and saucer was used by William Morris at The Grange, the Burne-Jones’ Fulham house, where he kept it especially for his own use when he dined there because he objected to the small size of the Burne-Jones’ coffee cups.
According to a handwritten note in the WMG file by J. W. Mackail, dated 11 May 1938 …”it was kept there and always used by him, and by no one else, either then or since.” The cup and saucer are described as Flemish by Mackail. (SH)
The cup does not exactly match the saucer.
