May Morris and Sigrún Stefánsdóttir in the garden at Kelsmcott Manor. A letter in the Gallery’s collection from May Morris to Margaret Peirce written on 20 Nov 1932 mentions that an Icelandic friend is coming to stay after Christmas, it is likely this was Stefánsdóttir, and thererfore the photo was taken around January 1933.
