Welcoming groups to the Gallery
All group visits and coach trips are warmly welcomed to the Gallery. Groups can visit independently with their own guide or book a tour from one of the Gallery’s curators.
Entry to the Gallery is free but please book in advance. To avoid disappointment, please try to make your booking at least four weeks before your planned visit.
Curatorial tours
Private tours of the Gallery for pre-booked groups each last 45 minutes and costs £150 per group (up to 15 people). Consecutive tours can be organised for larger groups.
The very popular ‘Meet the Man’ tour offers an introduction to William Morris’ life and work through key works on display. You will be shown Morris’ varied interests in craft, politics and literature, as well as introduced to his close collaborators. This is a recommended tour for any group’s first visit to the Gallery.
Community tours
The William Morris Gallery offers free introductory community welcome tours to registered charities, social enterprises and constituted charitable groups in Waltham Forest and neighbouring boroughs. You’ll be introduced to the life and legacy of William Morris, see key objects from our collection and learn about the history of the Gallery. Community tours are also available for each of the Gallery’s special exhibitions.
