Groups and coach visits are always welcome. You’re free to look around at your own pace or book a tour with one of our curators. Admission is free, but we ask that you book ahead. To make sure everything runs smoothly, please get in touch at least four weeks before your visit.

Special Exhibition Private Tour

William Morris Gallery Tour + Object Handling
Enhance your visit with a guided tour followed by a unique object handling session in the Gallery’s Acanthus Room. Engage directly with materials and techniques inspired by Morris’s work.

Behind the Scenes at William Morris Gallery
A special tour of the permanent collection plus a rare visit to the Gallery’s collection and archive store. A fascinating opportunity to discover how artworks are preserved and cared for.

• We are happy to welcome translators accompanying tour groups, free of charge (subject to group capacity limits).
•  All private group bookings receive an exclusive 10% discount in the Gallery shop

Community tours

We offer free welcome tours for local charities, social enterprises and community groups across Waltham Forest and neighbouring boroughs. These sessions are a chance to spend time together in the Gallery getting to know William Morris, encountering key works from the collection, and exploring the stories from the Gallery’s history. Community tours are also available for each of the Gallery’s special exhibitions.
