This photograph depicts George Jack’s preparatory carved plaster panel for the Memorial Cottages built in 1902 at Kelmscott, Lechlade and designed by Philip Webb. The panel, which sits above the cottage doors depicts William Morris under a tree with his satchel by his leg. The panel was worked up by Jack from a pencil sketch by Philip Webb.
