Pen and ink drawing by Christopher Whall of the nativity. The image was later adapted as one of the Fitzroy Picture Society’s prints ‘The Lesson of the Cradle’, c.1890 and for a stained glass window in St. Saviour’s, Shanklin, Isle of Wight, 1913 (see A628). A printed proof of the image is also in the collection (see P559x).
