This edition of ‘The Book of the Thousand Nights and One Night’ belonged to William Morris. This is the first volume of the nine-volume set, numbered 222 in the present group. It has the Kelmscott House bookplate on the front pastedown of all nine volumes. Published by the Villon Society between 1882-1884. All volumes are in the publisher’s original vellum bindings. All were privately printed limited to 500 sets for subscribers and for private circulation.
